When composing to picture, composers are normally sent a mute copy of the video that they have to work on.  In order to show the client what we have done we normally export the music we have created as an MP3 file and attach it to the mute video, and then email the combination to the client for review.

To make this process as smooth as possible you must make sure that the music starts right at the beginning of the MP3 file – unless, of course there is a title board on the video.  The idea is that when you put the two together you don’t want to have to adjust the timings of the audio to fit the video.

You will need a copy of Quicktime pro to unlock the extra features that allow you to add and subtract audio.  If you are doing this a lot, it is definitely worth the investment.

Hopefully this video tutorial will tell you all you need to know – if not then send us an email and we will answer your questions.
